OnePlus has released three smartphones thus far, two of which were announced this year. The company has unveiled their second-gen flagship, the OnePlus 2, and a mid-range OnePlus X handset. Both of these phones are available for purchase as we speak, and OnePlus has also announced quite recently that OnePlus 2 invite-only policy is a thing of the past, basically anyone can purchase the company’s new flagship now. That being said, we haven’t exactly seen any OnePlus 3 rumor, at least not until now. A new rumor has surfaced in China, so let’s see what it has to say, shall we.
This info actually comes from a well-known tipster, @upleaks, which doesn’t necessarily means it’s accurate though. The source says that the OnePlus 3 will be fueled by the Snapdragon 820 64-bit quad-core SoC, and that it will sport a fullHD (1920 x 1080) display. The source does, however, admit that he’s not completely sure that this info is correct, even though his sources said it is. Unfortunately, that’s all the information he was able to provide at the moment, which isn’t a lot, but it’s at least something. As the launch date approaches, we’ll see more and more such leaks, but it’s still way too early for that. OnePlus 2 was announced back in July, and we still have a long way to go before the company unveils the OnePlus 3, unless they plan on changing their current release cycle, in which can the phone might arrive sooner than expected, but that will hardly happen.
In addition to all this, two alleged OnePlus 3 renders have surfaced in China, which you can check out if you scroll down to the gallery. Now, keep in mind that these might as well be concept design images or something of the sort considering OnePlus 3 is not supposed to arrive anytime soon, but they sure are very nice looking. The OnePlus 3 is still pretty much a mystery, but it will sure going to be interesting to see how does OnePlus intend on improving upon the OnePlus 2. That handset certainly has its drawbacks, but for the asking price it’s a great buy, most people would agree with that statement. The device offers a 5.5-inch 1080p display, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, not to mention that it also ships with Android 5.1 Lollipop on a very fluid Oxygen OS which is installed on top of it. The 13-megapixel snapper which is located on the back of this device is also quite capable, and you have various accessory options in order to customize your device the way you want to.
