Rumor: Samsung Gear S2 In Rose Gold & Platinum Coming Soon

The Samsung Gear S2 is the latest smartwatch to arrive from the South Korean company and ever since its announcing and introduction, the market has been closely watching this particular smartwatch. On the face of it, this seems to be one which has reignited Samsung’s position in the smartwatch market. While the company is a company who releases a ton of smartwatches each year, the Gear S2 was a little bit different to their other offerings, as the was their first smartwatch to come sporting a round display. No to mention, it was one which was thought to be built from the ground up and comes with some notable features that you are unlikely to find on other competitor products. Essentially placing the Gear S2 in a unique position within what is quickly becoming a crowded market.

As such, sales of the Gear S2 seem to be off to a good start and the Gear S2 is quickly establishing itself as one of the best smartwatches of this year and therefore those thinking about picking up a Gear S2, seem to be looking at a good investment. Not to mention, one which comes with the option to choose your style. The watch is available in either the standard Gear S2 variant or for those looking for a more ‘timeless’ timepiece, the Gear S2 Classic. Well, adding to the options already available, the latest coming through is that two new colored Gear S2 options might be hitting the market soon.

The information comes from a tipster on Twitter who notes that Samsung is preparing to release both a Platinum version and a Rose Gold version of the smartwatch. Both of these are colors that Samsung has used for other devices and as a result, the choice of color is one which would makes sense for Samsung to be thinking about introducing, which adds some weight to the rumor. Of course, at this point, there is no information on any other details on these new color options, their pricing, region availability or otherwise. Although, with CES not too far away and Samsung in attendance, it is possible that they could be shown off at the event. If not, then quite likely at MWC a few weeks later.
