Samsung Sends out Invites for CES 2016 Press Conference

Believe it or not, CES is just a few weeks away. CES is the biggest consumer electronics show of the year (hence the name). It’s also the first big trade show of the year and takes place each and every year from Las Vegas, it includes every type of technology you can think of. Especially VR. In recent years, we haven’t really gotten many smartphones out of this trade show. We got the LG G Flex 2 last year, and rumors are currently pointing to the Galaxy S7 coming out at CES this year. Which would be the first time that Samsung has announced a flagship smartphone at the trade show. Speaking of which, Samsung has just sent out invites to the press for a press conference happening on Tuesday, January 5th, 2016 at 2pm PST. Of course, we’ll be there to see what exactly Samsung has to show off.

While rumors have been pointing to the Galaxy S7 launch at CES, there are plenty more showing that it’ll be later on in January or even in February. That is when Mobile World Congress is, which is being held in Barcelona, Spain, and that’s typically where Samsung announces the next generation of the Galaxy S. Obviously we’ll know more as we get closer to CES, so until then we’ll have to settle with just speculating and watching the rumor mill.

At CES 2015, Samsung didn’t announce anything on the mobile side, coinciding with their whole “doubling down” with new devices. We might see the same thing again this year, but it’s tough to say right now. Samsung has been having trouble with the mobile division in recent years, in trying to turn a profit and increase the number of devices they are selling. So there’s a good chance that we may see the Galaxy S7 at CES or we may see nothing. January 5th will be jam-packed with press conferences, including Samsung at 2pm PST. So there will be tons of new products announced, and you can stick to Android Headlines for all of the details as we will be in Las Vegas to cover the entire show all week long.
