Samsung is the largest smartphone manufacturer in the world, and they have released a number of devices this year. The Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, Note 5 and S6 Edge Plus are the company’s flagship models for this year, and probably the best known Galaxy-branded smartphones out at the moment. Samsung releases quite a few low and mid-range phones a year as well, and their ‘Galaxy A’ line of devices is a great example. Samsung has actually released three new Galaxy A devices quite recently, the 2nd-gen Galaxy A3, A5 and A7 phones. These three devices are not exactly the most affordable phones out there, but they’re more than solid mid-rangers.
That being said, it seems like Samsung is trying to improve their entry and mid-range offerings even more. According to a report from Korea, Samsung actually intends on including OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) cameras in their low and mid-range smartphones. We’ve reported quite recently that Samsung plans on including premium features in their low and mid-range smartphone, like Samsung Pay for example, and it seems like OIS will be a part of that. If this report is accurate, then Samsung is definitely doing the right thing, as long as this doesn’t increase the price of their lower-end offerings even more. OIS can be extremely useful, not only for image capturing, but also video shooting, as it will not only allow you to take better images in low light conditions, but it will also balance out your video so it’s not all shaky and what not. OIS, of course, needs to be implemented properly, and we all know that image quality is one of Samsung’s strong suits, at least it was up to this point, we’ll see what happens next.
Now, this report doesn’t exactly share any details when it comes to Samsung’s plans, but if it is accurate, we’ll start seeing lower-end models sport both Samsung Pay and iOS starting next year.
