Swing Copters 2 Released, Flappy Bird Developer Strikes Again

Google Play Store is a home for many, many applications, many of which are games, but very few of those games managed to frustrate users as much as Flappy Bird. This title was extremely popular for quite some time, despite its very simple graphics and gameplay. People were more or less obsessed with that game, and its developer was under the spotlight because of it. A while after the mania ended, Dong Nguyen (the developer), has released yet another title with similar graphics called ‘Swing Copters‘. This game wasn’t nearly as popular as Flappy Bird, but between 5 and 10 million people downloaded that game, so it was quite popular in the general sense. The gameplay wasn’t identical to the one found on Flappy Bird, but was quite similar.

That being said, Dong Nguyen has developed a sequel to Swing Copters, and the game is now available in the Google Play Store and App Store. This game is quite similar to the original one, but adds new obstacles, like the swinging hammers you can see in the gallery down below. The developer has also added a number more characters, and the game is allegedly far more challenging than the original, while it also includes a ‘story’. ”The story was put bit by bit during the development, and some parts were based on our life events. The basic idea is to provide something funny, so people don’t get too frustrated. Sometimes story was improved when a new cool character was created. Most of the script was written by Trung Vu,” said Dong Nguyen.

The gameplay is more or less identical to the original, you need to tap the screen in order to make the little flying creature swing in one way, while you need to do it again to make it go the other way. Doing this repeatedly will make it avoid obstacles, but it is far more difficult to do that than you might think. Those of you who have played the original know very well how annoying this game can be. Anyhow, the better you get at this game the more medals and points you’ll collect, which you need to unlock characters and items. There are several new options introduced this time around, as you can see, the characters actually have three stats this time around, Up Speed, Horizontal Speed and Handling.

That’s pretty much it, the game actually offers you more ways to use the points / medals you collect, and is somewhat more complex than the original because of it, but not by much. There are also in-app purchases included here, just in case you’d like to save time and pay instead. Check out the official images down below if you’re interested, and follow the Google Play banner if you’d like to download the game and try it out for yourself.
