Verizon Will Pay up to $650 to switch to their Network, Starting Today

Lately, we’ve seen a number of carriers offering to pay the fees to get you to switch. T-Mobile first started doing it then Sprint joined in. Verizon and AT&T have done limited time promotions offering to pay any fees to switch, but they haven’t lasted long. Today, Verizon is announcing that you’ll be able to switch on over to their network and they will pay up to $650 per line to switch. That includes contract early termination fees as well as device lease payments that are still owed. Verizon has a number of great smartphones on their network, including the Droid Turbo 2 with the indestructible display, or the Galaxy Note 5 from Samsung and even the LG V10.

Verizon is also stating that in a survey of 2,000 people, 87% of T-Mobile customers and 86% of Sprint customers switched back over to Verizon within six months of leaving the carrier. And cited the reasoning as “Network quality and performance” as the reason for their return. Verizon is also quoting RootMetrics reports, stating that they have led in overall performance among all of the national wireless service providers, for four years consecutively now. RootMetrics is a non-biased company who drives around the US (and now Canada as well) and does speed tests. They search to see how well carriers are doing in different cities, states, airports and even sport venues. It’s a great way to see how well your carrier really stacks up.

Now Verizon is offering up to $650 per line. Which means if you’re switching a family of four on over to Verizon, you can receive as much as $2600 for switching. However, it is important to note that this cash will not be given to you at the time you sign up with Verizon, but rather about 6-8 weeks later in a form of a prepaid Visa gift card, which you can use to pay off your fees at your old carrier (which you still may have to pay the money up front). So keep that in mind for everyone looking to jump ship. It’s a great time to be a wireless customer, seeing all this competition is nothing but good things for customers.
