Xiaomi Mi 5 is not only one of the most anticipated flagships at the moment, but also one of the most leaked ones. The details about this smartphone have been surfacing for quite some time now, and it seems like it will be announced next month. The company’s CEO has confirmed that he has been using the device for quite some time now, and that it is definitely ‘worth the wait’. We’ve seen a leaked render of this smartphone yesterday, and today we have a new leak which pretty much goes hand-in-hand with the one we’ve seen yesterday, read on.
The alleged Xiaomi Mi 5 patent documents have leaked and revealed the device’s design. The rather thin and odd-looking physical home button is here, and the company has built-in a fingerprint scanner into it, at least according to the available info. The Type-C USB port is located on the bottom of the phone, and dual speakers are placed on its left and right side. The device will be made out of metal, and it will sport a curved back it seems. Now, these patent docs are not the only thing that surfaced today, we also have a real life image of this device to share with you. If you take a look at the fifth image in the gallery down below, you’ll get to see this phone in the flesh. The physical home button is quite visible here, and looking at the phone from this position we’re actually reminded of previous Galaxy S models (Galaxy S3 most of all).
Now, according to previous info, the Xiaomi Mi 5 will sport a 5.2-inch display along with 3/4GB of RAM and 32/64 of internal storage. The device will be fueled by the Snapdragon 820 processor, and a 3,600mAh non-removable battery will be available on the inside. The 16-megapixel snapper will be placed on the back of this phone, and a 13-megapixel shooter will be available up front. Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 tech will be available here as well, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS will come pre-installed on this device along with Xiaomi’s MIUI 7 OS available on top of it. The 3GB RAM (32GB of internal storage) variant of the device is said to cost 1,999 Yuan ($308), while the 4GB RAM (64GB of native storage) model will set you back 2,299 Yuan ($354). Take this info with a pinch of salt as always, nothing has been confirmed just yet.
