Xiaomi likes to dabble in pretty much anything tech-related, and their product portfolio is the best example of that. The company manufactures smartphones, tablets, smart TVs, fitness trackers, and all sorts of smart gadgets, such as action cameras, air purifiers, etc. That being said, this company is expected to announce their Mi 5 flagship next month (January 21st is the rumored date), and as we’re waiting for that device to launch, we’re getting quite a few Xiaomi notebook leaks lately. Inventec has confirmed a while back that Xiaomi Notebook is on the way and that it will be available in the first half of 2016. Well, Inventec has shared even more info yesterday when they confirmed that the notebook will be available for sale in April next year, and the company said that they’re in charge of manufacturing the 12.5-inch variant of Xiaomi’s notebook (the 13.3-inch one has also been rumored). Yesterday’s report also said that this product will resemble Apple’s MacBook Air, and it is expected to cost around 2,999 Yuan ($470).
That being said, a new report surfaced today sharing details specifications of this tablet, and if this report is accurate, Xiaomi’s Notebook might be in high demand once launched. Keep in mind that these specs don’t seem to be connected to the yesterday’s leak because we’re looking at a 15.6-inch product here, which is somewhat odd. Either way, according to the source, Xiaomi’s Notebook (one of them) will feature a 15.6-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) LED-backlit display along with 8GB of RAM on the inside. Intel’s Core i7 4th generation SoC will fuel this product, and Linux OS will come pre-installed on here. Now, according to the report, the device will cost 2,999 Yuan ($466), which would be a great price judging by these specifications. Now, take this leak with a grain of salt though, the notebook mentioned here is 15.6-inches big, while we’ve seen leaks regarding the 12.5 and 13.3-inch products.
Considering the amount of conflicting info we have here, it will surely going to be interesting to see what will Xiaomi announce next year. Is it the smaller 12.5 / 13.3-inch product, or a full-fledged notebook with extremely powerful specifications? Well, we’ll just have to wait and see, stay tuned.
