Asus has introduced quite a few ZenFone devices last year. The company’s Android-based line of devices has expanded significantly last year, and the sales have been progressing quite well for the company as well. Asus has started off the year by introducing the ZenFone 2 devices, four handsets one of which sported 4GB of RAM on the inside, and was the first such smartphone to reach the market. The ZenFone 2 devices are fueled by Intel’s processors, and are quite affordable.
That being said, Asus is actually rolling out a stability update for the ZenFone 2 line of devices. The company says that these are mostly user reported issues that are being fixed, and that they’ve also enabled ‘Android for Work’ with this update. Now, as far as the changelog is considered, Asus has fixed some video, sound, Google Play Service, SD card and SmartBox issues, and has also tended to issues related to the volume control in YouTube while using Miracast. There are a number of smaller fixes included in this update as well, and the Asus ZenUI launcher stability has also been greatly improved. The company has also updated a number of pre-installed apps with this update, and has improved the power usage of the e-mail app.
The update itself is 73.66MB in size, and it will update your software to version 2.20.40.164. If you’d like to install this update, all you have to do is head over to settings and check for the update manually if the phone hasn’t notified you one is available just yet. Keep in mind this is an OTA (over-the-air) update, so it might take a while before it reaches your device. Now, another thing to keep in mind here, is the fact that Asus confirmed that the ZenFone 2 will receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow, along with a number of other Asus-branded Android-powered devices like the Zenfone Selfie, PadFone S, ZenFone 2 Laser, ZenFone 2 Deluxe, etc. We don’t really have all that much info when it comes to Marshmallow update just yet, but we’ll keep you in the loop, as always, stay tuned.
