Braven makes a good number of portable and home speakers that are powered by Bluetooth technology and offer up some insanely good sound. Today during CES 2016 they unveiled a new product which sees them once again stepping foot into a realm of the accessories market for devices that they don’t usually launch products for – portable power. Unlike most battery packs though Braven is taking the power bank to new heights by introducing the BRV-Bank Pro LE, a modular unit which can not only withstand drops and damage thanks to its touch exterior, but it also houses a solar panel on top so you can charge your devices without requiring a power outlet to juice up the power bank itself, as the bank will draw energy from the sun.
Like many battery packs, the BRV-Bank Pro LE features an LED flashlight (with 300 lumens) so you can find things in the dark or light a path when in a dimly lit area. Braven has outfitted it with an IPX7 rating so it can be fully submerged in water while the aluminum outer body protects the pack from damage if dropped or bumped up against things. Using Braven’s companion app that is compatible with both Android and iOS, users can remotely control the flow of power, check the power levels of the bank, and completely turn off either charging port altogether.
The power bank also features two interesting modes to help a user find their phone, appropriately called “Find Me,” as well as what Braven calls the “Bear Mode” that alerts users should there phone be moved from its original position after being set down thanks to the feature activating the device’s motion sensors. The BRV-Bank Pro LE comes with two USB ports for charging two devices simultaneously, and the nylon braded USB cable as well as a lanyard for easy portability. With 6000mAh of battery power on board there is more thanb enough juice to charge up one smartphone two or three times depending on the size of the battery. Braven will have the BRV-Bank Pro LE on sale later in Q1 of 2016 at a cost of $129.99.
