Acer was one of a few manufacturers, who announced a new monitor this week that has USB Type-C input. Meaning you can plug in your Chromebook Pixel or Macbook with a USB Type-C cable and use it as a second display. Which is pretty cool, especially considering that USB Type-C is definitely the future (and CES 2016 confirmed that for sure). There are two USB Type-C monitors from Acer that are on display at CES this week. A 25-inch monitor and a 27-inch monitor, both sporting a 2560×1440 resolution. There are more ports than just USB Type-C as well. There are also HDMI, and USB 3.0 ports included. The USB Type-C monitors from ASUS will be available in February starting at $400.
This is a great monitor for those looking to get one that is future proof, especially with USB Type-C coming. What it also does, is charge your laptop. So if you plug in your laptop to the monitor, you are able to charge it, thus saving another cord or even a port for you at your desk. With the Macbook, that can be an issue, but with the Chromebook Pixel that means you have another USB port that can be used for other items.
