Hands On: JBL Charge 3 & Clip 2 Portable Speakers at CES 2016

At CES 2016, Harman announced a slew of new products across their entire portfolio. Including a slew of new speakers from JBL. Today, we got the chance to take a look a the JBL Charge 3. The JBL Charge 3 is JBL’s waterproof speaker. It’s rated at IPX7, and can be submerged in water and still work without any issues. Compared to last year’s JBL Charge 2+, the Charge 3 features a new fabric grille as well as redesigned rubberized housing. The Charge 3 features 15 hours of continuous playback. It features a 6,000mAh battery inside, and can also charge your smartphone or tablet at the same time that it’s playing music. Hence the name.

The Clip 2 was also announced at CES 2016 this week. The Clip 2 features a new carabiner clip, which is now a triangle, but can also be clipped onto a bag, or a bike, or really anything. It’s a pretty small speaker as well, but still finds a way to offer around 8 hours of continuous playback before needing a charge. The Charge 3 and the Clip 2 can be paired together for greater sound as well. Both will be available later this year. We got some hands on time with the JBL Charge 3 and Clip 2, which you can check out below.
