There are many products now available which come with a clear focus on letting the user gauge insight into their health. In fact, the wearables market seems to be one which is very heavily influenced by its ability to sync with health apps or record vital information directly on the device. Well at CES this week, Owlet Baby Care is showing off their latest product, the Owlet Baby Monitor. This is a monitor which comes accompanied with a sock which is to be worn by the baby. The purpose of the sock is to give the parent peace of mind that all is well with the baby’s breathing. During the night, the Owlet Baby Sock uses pulse oximetry to monitor the baby’s breathing and alerts the parent if any unusual breathing levels are detected.
From the sock, information can be relayed both to the smartphone app and also to a Owlet baby monitor which allows the parent to visually see (by using a green/red color scheme) that all is currently well. At the moment, the Owlet Baby Monitor compatible app is only available for iOS devices, although we have been told at CES that the Android app will be arriving and available in March.
