This week ASUS unveiled a brand-new Chromebook for the masses, but one that was also specifically tailor made to be safe in the hands of children. The new C202 Chromebook from ASUS is ruggedized with a rubber frame that follows along the edge and has a tougher exterior for the body to help it withstand damage from drops and dings. We were able to get some hands-on time with to check it out in person.
Aside from the rugged build, the ASUS Chromebook C202 features a modular build so that various parts can be replaced if needed, making this a perfect Chromebook for the education sector. ASUS will have two models of this particular Chromebook one with 2GB of RA< and one with 4GB of RAM, coming with 16GB of internal storage space and an 11-inch display with a resolution of 1366 x 768. When it launches later this year the Chromebook C202 will potentially cost $220 for the 4GB RAM model, although price points aren’t final just yet.
