It seems that leather is a material that more than a few handset companies have to try at least once when building a smartphone. If not immediately then at some point down the road. That’s the case with the Limited Edition Leather model of the Nubia Z9 from ZTE, which they have on display at CES 2016 this week giving us a chance to get some hands-on time with and check it out. Since this is the Nubia Z9, there’s not a whole lot different about it compared to the original Nubia Z9 that ZTE has already launched, short of the new material on the back and the updated color.
The original Nubia Z9 sports a glass back with a style similar to Sony’s Xperia Z series devices, while this limited edition model is fitted with a soft supple brown leather. The leather should not only help to give the phone some grip (especially over time) but it will also likely age ever so slightly as leather does and ultimately give it a more refined look than when it was a brand new device. This model still comes powered by a Snapdragon 810 processor and features a Full HD 5.2-inch display, along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
