HTC isn’t doing all that well as far as finances are concerned. The company’s latest financial results showed a significant decrease in sales in 2015, which is a huge problem for this Taiwan-based company. HTC was trying to keep their head above the water in 2014, and 2015 turned out to be even worse than expected. That being said, there’s still time for the company to turn things around, of course, they just have to make some risky moves moving forward. As we’re waiting to see what will happen with HTC this year, the company has re-introduced one of their recently announced handsets, read on.
The HTC Desire 728 was announced back in September last year, and the company has now released this mid-ranger to the Indian smartphone market as well. The HTC Desire 728 Dual SIM is a 5.5-inch device which sports a 720p (1280 x 720) panel up front. The phone is fueled by MediaTek’s MT6753 64-bit octa-core processor along with a Mali-T720 GPU for graphics. The 13-megapixel shooter (f/2.2 aperture, BSI sensor) is located on the back of this phone, and on the front you’ll find a 5-megapixel snapper (BSI sensor). The 2,800mAh battery is available on the inside, and as its name says, this phone offers two SIM card slots (2 x Nano SIM). HTC’s BoomSound speakers are also included here, you’ll find two such speakers on the front side of the device (Dolby Audio included). The phone packs in 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which you can expand up via a microSD card (up to 2TB). The Desire 728 Dual SIM measures 157.9 x 77.8 x 7.87mm, while it weighs 155 grams. Android 5.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed here with HTC’s Sense UI available on top of it.
”The new HTC Desire 728 Dual SIM brings distinctive design into a feature-rich smartphone, providing you with a great value smartphone which you can truly make your own. We want to provide a powerful, fully customizable experience to our customers, and the HTC Desire 728 Dual SIM brings this in abundance,” said Faisal Siddiqui, President of HTC South Asia. The HTC Desire 728 Dual SIM will be available in Purple Myst and White Luxury color options, and it is priced at Rs. 17,990 ($270) in India. The phone will be available soon through pretty much all the major retailers in the country.
