CES 2016 is currently ongoing in Las Vegas, and we’ve seen a ton of great tech introduced already. Huawei is one of the biggest companies present at the tradeshow, and this China-based smartphone manufacturer had lots to say during their press conference. The company has not only announced new products, but has also re-announced some existing ones for new markets. Speaking of which, we’ve already covered the main announcement of the company’s flagship, the Mate 8 phablet. Well, we’re here to talk about its availability and pricing, read on.
At the end of Huawei’s Mate 8 presentation, the company has mentioned that this phablet will be available in quite a few markets all around the globe, and we’re talking about the ‘first-wave launch markets’, as Huawei called them. The Mate 8 will roll out in (alphabetical order): Australia, Belgium, Burma, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Egypt, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Kuwait, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand and UAE. As you can see, we’re looking at quite a few markets here. It is also worth mentioning that the device will be available in Champagne Gold, Moonlight Silver, Space Gray and the all-new Mocha Brown color options. The device will be available in 3GB of RAM + 32GB of internal storage, and 4GB of RAM + 64GB of native storage variants. The first variant is priced at €599, while the latter one will set you back €699 should you choose to buy it. Huawei has failed to mention when exactly will this handset become available though, so stay tuned.
The Huawei Mate 8 features a 6-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display along with 3/4GB of RAM and 32/64GB of internal storage. This handset is fueled by the Kirin 950 64-bit octa-core processor, and a 4,000mAh battery is also a part of this package. The 16-megapixel OIS shooter is available on the back of this phablet, and an 8-megapixel snapper can be found up front.
