LeEco (formerly Letv) had plenty to share with us this month. The company has introduced the first Snapdragon 820 smartphone during CES in Las Vegas, the Le Max Pro, and soon after that they announced a completely re-branding. The company has decided to change their name, and from ‘Letv’ they became ‘LeEco’. The re-branding news was announced during a press event in China, but LeEco has also held a press conference in India as well, where they announced their re-branding, along with some new devices for the Indian smartphone market, the Le Max and Le 1s.
That being said, LeEco has reached out to us in order to share some more stats. Soon after the Le Max and Le 1s were launched in China, LeEco has opened up registration for a flash sale of these devices. The company says that the phone received 100,000 registrations in a single day, which means they broke one record on Flipkart, the Le 1s received most registrations for a phone which costs Rs. 10,000+. The phone will be available for purchase on February 2nd, in case you’re interested. That’s not all though, LeEco has also shared some of their sales numbers. Quite recently, it was announced that the company managed to sell over 4 million devices in 2015, which was quite a feat for a company which is new to the smartphone market (LeEco introduced their first devices in April last year). Well, the company has shared some new numbers, and it seems like LeEco managed to sell 5 million smartphones thus far, which means they basically beat the record for fastest growing new smartphone brand. LeEco is the first smartphone manufacturer which managed to sell 5 million devices in only 8 months after reaching the market (for the first time).
That is pretty much it as far as new info goes. LeEco is expected to start selling smartphones in the US really soon, the company is already selling accessories through their official webstore (LeMall), and smartphones will be available soon enough. We still don’t know when will Le Max Pro going to be released, but considering it was already certified in China, it might become available to consumers really soon.
