Although there are already a few ways for users to mirror their smartphone screen onto a larger display, Lenovo has just unwrapped a new solution for those who want to initiate this type of task through their PC. Titled the Lenovo LINK, this little dongle allows users to connect their smartphone up to a computer and mirror the screen from their mobile device onto the computer screen with full control of the phone set up in the PC environment. Doubling up on the efforts to please consumers, the LINK can act as a storage drive for users too so they can take anything they need with them and remote control their mobile device all with one handy tool.
When connected, Lenovo states that the mouse and keyboard of the computer control the movements on the smartphone display, making it possible to move through apps and other functions without having to actually touch the device. The LINK also makes it extremely easy to transfer files, as the dongle allows users to drag and drop anything stored on the smartphone over to the computer hard drive with little effort, all without having to send things to services like Google Drive or Dropbox first, or copy and paste from storage to a memory card.
Other than making file transfers from phone to computer a simple process, the LINK also acts as a 32GB flash drive and it can be just a flash drive when you want it or need it to be, and it promotes better productivity as you wouldn’t have to look and interact with more than one screen at a time. Lenovo also states that the LINK is a versatile little device, confirming its compatibility with Android devices running Android 5.0 Lollipop and above, and coming with support for PC’s running Windows 7 through 10. This is also a flash drive so it’s compact and portable meaning you can slip it into a pocket or bag when you’re ready to pack up. Those looking to grab the Lenovo LINK for their own purposes will be able to pick one up in March of 2016 for $39.99, and although there are no currently mentioned retailers, chances are it’ll make its way to places like Amazon and Best Buy in addition to Lenovo’s own online store.
