LG’s G flagship is always one of the most anticipated handsets of the year. The LG G4 was introduced back in April, and even though the LG V10 is a slightly higher-end handset, the G4 is still the company’s flagship. We’ve been seeing quite a few rumors and leaks surfaced regarding its successor, the LG G5, as the phone is expected to be announced either during MWC in Barcelona, or sometime in April / May.
That being said, a new piece of the puzzle has just surfaced. According to the User Agent data, the LG G5 will have a model number of LG-H830. The LG G4, in comparison, had a model number LG-H810, so this surely makes sense. The User Agent data has also revealed that the phone will ship with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, and LG’s custom UI will be available on top of Andriod, as always. Now, this listing really didn’t reveal anything as far as phone’s hardware specs go, but based on some leaks, we can guess what specifications will this phone feature in the end, read on.
According to rumors / leaks, the LG G5 will feature a 5.5-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) display, and it will also sport a secondary screen up to, like the V10. The handset will also pack in 3 / 4GB of RAM, and various internal storage variants. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 64-bit quad-core SoC will fuel this smartphone, and the Adreno 530 GPU will be in charge of graphics processing. The 16-megapixel OIS shooter will be placed on the back of this phone, and will be helped by a Laser Autofocus, and a dual-LED flash. Now, this will reportedly be a much improved 16-megapixel shooter, but we’ll see.The 8-megapixel camera is expected to be available up front, and a 2,800mAh removable battery is expected to be available on the inside as well. Android 6.0 Marshmallow should help this battery offer a similar performance to the 3,000mAh unit you’ll find in the G3 and G4. That is more or less it, it is possible that LG will unveil this handset on February 21st during MWC, but this hasn’t been confirmed yet. As it usually goes with rumors / leaks, take this spec info with a grain of salt, and stay tuned for further info.
