Streaming services are not new as Netflix and Hulu have been around for quite some time, offering up a plethora of collected media spanning all kinds of genres including movies, animated series, primetime television, and more. In the last year or two though, a handful broadcast companies have been reaching out to grab a piece of the pie in which Netflix, Hulu, and other streaming services have been hoarding. The latest to join this craze is NBC, likely in an attempt to keep viewers for some of or all of their content. NBC’s Seeso app just launched on Google Play for free with a $3.99 monthly cost to stream as much NBC content as you want.
Hulu already has various NBC shows available through their own service, but unlike Hulu Seeso costs less money and the entire service is ad-free. If you primarily watch TV shows which air on NBC anyway, this might be the way to go especially if you’re looking for another reason to cut the cord and let go of your cable TV service, or if you’ve been wanting to drop Hulu in search of a cheaper monthly option. For first time consumers who have never subscribed to a streaming service before, any monthly amount, however inexpensive, might seem like a possible waste if they don’t feel they get their money’s worth. NBC seems to have thought this through as they’re letting users try the service out for free as a guest, after which users can opt to subscribe for the $3.99 to continue using.
As stated above Seeso has absolutely no ads whatsoever, so all the content you stream can be enjoyed all the way through a program without any interruptions. What’s more though is that it offers quite a few options like clips of Jimmy Fallon as well as next-day late night programs from Jimmy Fallon, Late Night With Seth Meyers and Saturday Night Live. You’ll also find stand-up comedy specials, episodes of series hits like 30-Rock, Parks And Recreation, Saved by the Bell, and The Office, plus NBC is promising new content will be added daily so users always have something new to check out that wasn’t there the day before. Like other services such as HBO NOW, Seeso will bill the $3.99 monthly subscription to your Google account so whatever card you have on file with that will be tied to payments.
