Indian online retailer, Overcart, has listed refurbished and unboxed units of the OnePlus 2 smartphone (64 GB version) at Rs. 18,749 ($280) and Rs. 19,899 ($300) respectively. The devices will go on sale from the 25th of this month via the flash sale format, and will come with a six-month warranty from the Shenzhen, Guangdong-based company. There’s also a cashback offer of Rs. 500 ($8) for the first 50 customers who buy the device on the website. As for the latest official pricing of the OnePlus 2 in the country, brand new versions of the smartphone are currently listed on Amazon India at Rs. 24,999 ($380 at current exchange rate) for the 4 GB RAM / 64 GB ROM variant. While the 3 GB RAM / 16 GB ROM variant is priced Rs. 2,000 ($30) cheaper at Rs. 22,999 ($350), it hasn’t yet been put up for sale by the company, and there’s no telling if it would ever come to the country.
Overcart, meanwhile, is known for selling officially-certified refurbished and pre-owned electronics, and this certainly ain’t the retailer’s first rodeo when it comes to selling refurbished OnePlus smartphones. Back in July of last year, the website put on sale unboxed units of the OnePlus One for Rs. 12,999 ($220 at July, 2015 exchange rate), which was significantly below the Rs. 21,998 ($350) price point the new units were being sold for. Announcing the OnePlus 2 sale, Mr. Saurabh Dubey, the Head of Strategic Alliances at Overcart, said, “We’ve been receiving overwhelming response to flash sales of OnePlus handsets. In the first OnePlus One sale, our stock sold out in 15 minutes. In the second sale, it took all of 4 minutes! Ever since the launch of the OnePlus 2, our customers have been asking us about the availability of unboxed and refurbished handsets–so we have been looking forward to this sale eagerly as well”.
As a quick recap, the OnePlus 2 comes with a 5.5-inch 1080p display and is powered by Qualcomm’s MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 SoC (v2.1), which comes with an embedded octa-core 64-bit CPU clocked at a maximum of 1.8 GHz, along with an Adreno 430 GPU. The device comes with a choice of either 3 GB RAM and 16 GB ROM or 4 GB RAM and 64 GB ROM. The smartphone runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box in the form of Oxygen OS 2.0. The smartphone comes with a 13-megapixel primary camera and a 5-megapixel secondary camera, and carries a 3,300 mAh Li-Po battery. The smartphone also happens to be one of the first mainstream smartphones to support microUSB 2.0 Type-C connectivity.
