Xiaomi Mi 5 has been mentioned quite a few times in the last couple of weeks. Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship will be announced on February 24th in China, as the company’s Senior VP recently confirmed. Now, this gives us plenty of time to see more various leaks and rumors, and earlier today surfaced a new leak which showed off the alleged chassis of the Xiaomi Mi 5. Well, that’s not the only piece of Mi 5 news we’ve seen today, a new rumor has just surfaced, read on.

Now, it was reported quite recently that Xiaomi intends on launching the standard Mi 5 handset which will be made out of metal and glass, and the high-end variant which will sport a metal unibody design. The standard variant was said to sport 3GB of RAM and a 5.1-inch fullHD display, while the premium option was expected to ship with 4GB of RAM and a 5.1-inch QHD display. Well, according to a new leak, Xiaomi will actually introduce four variants of their upcoming flagship.

The rumor claims that Xiaomi intends on launching two all-metal, and two glass variants. The first all-metal model will reportedly ship with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, and will cost 2,199 Yuan. The second metal device is said to sport 4GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage, while the rumor says it will cost 2,599 Yuan. According to this rumor, both glass models of this handset will ship with 4GB of RAM, and the only difference will be in their storage, Xiaomi will offer both 32 and 64GB options. These two handsets are said to cost 2,799 Yuan and 3,099 Yuan, respectively.

Now, this new rumor is actually significantly different than anything we’ve seen thus far, not only does it say Mi 5 will arrive in four different variants, but in this case, the glass variant(s) will actually ship with 4GB of internal storage, not 3GB. As far as other specs are concerned, the Mi 5 will be fueled by the Snapdragon 820 SoC (confirmed), and will probably feature a 16-megapixel camera on its back, and a 3,600mAh battery on the inside. Quick charging will be included in this package, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow is expected to come pre-installed here with Xiaomi’s MIUI 7 OS on top of it.
