Samsung appears to be following in Google’s footsteps when it comes to their apps. As news has just broke that they are looking to bring all of their apps on over to the platform. Google has made all of their apps available on iOS for quite some time now. And most recently, brought Android Wear over to the platform as well. While Samsung has already made it known that they are planning to bring Gear S2 support to iOS, it now looks like they are bringing many other apps to the competing platform as well.
Some might wonder why Samsung would want to bring their apps to iOS. And it’s quite simple, as well as almost the same reasons for Google doing it. iOS isn’t a small platform. And many users use both iOS and Android these days. So why not make it available to those on iOS. While these apps are not confirmed by Samsung to be coming to iOS, it appears that the Gear Fit Manager, as well as the S Health app coming on over. The Gear Fit Manager will be there for those that own the Samsung Gear Fit that they released in 2014. This app allows users to download apps and much more for their Gear Fit. While S Health allows users to track their steps, workouts, calories eaten as well as burned and even track their sleep.
The company is also working on a new version of the Smart Camera app for iOS. The update is said to be bringing a brand new UI to the app. The app allows users to use it to copy pictures as well as videos and also connect it to a tablet or smartphone as a remote viewfinder. Samsung is also looking to bring Galaxy View support to iOS. With their Remote Control and Family Square apps. So those with iPhones can still take full advantage of the large Galaxy View tablet that Samsung announced a few months ago.
Right now, there’s no word on when these apps will be available in the Apple App Store, but rumors are suggesting that they will be available before the end of the year.
