Sprint Claims their LTE Plus Network is Faster than Competitors

This morning, Sprint released a press release about their LTE Plus network – which is the new name for their Spark network. While LTE Plus is supposedly faster than their regular LTE network, now they are claiming that their network is faster than T-Mobile, Verizon and AT&T. And they are citing data from Nielsen. Using the Nielsen Mobile Performance results, you can see that Sprint’s network is 5% faster than T-Mobile, 10% faster than Verizon and 24% faster than AT&T. Now it’s important to note that this data comes from mobile download events in various cities across the US. Nielsen says that these cities cover about 270 million people. The time frame that this data was collected was October through December of 2015.

Sprint is also stating in their press release that their LTE Plus network is available in over 150 markets. Quoting that you get faster service with LTE Plus due to doubling the network capacity and speed. Also noting that peak speeds are hitting 100Mbps on some devices. Sprint also notes that you get stronger service with their LTE Plus network, thanks to them leveraging their 2.5GHz spectrum. Finally, more reliable service. Since they are using three bands for LTE Plus, that include 800MHz, 1900MHz and 2500MHz bands together. Which provides great indoor coverage and amazing speeds.

The company’s CEO, Marcelo Claure stated, “”Over 75 million downloads, collected from real consumers in cities across the country, show that Sprint wins where it matters – the actual customer experience. Our customers are experiencing a network that’s faster than the competition, and there’s never been a better time to give Sprint a try.” in regards to the Nielsen Mobile Performance report.

Don’t forget that Sprint is also still doing their 50% off promo for those looking to switch from T-Mobile, AT&T or Verizon. So not only do you get a faster network, but also lower prices. A good deal there from Sprint. However, it’s important to note here that while the Nielsen Mobile Performance report states that Sprint’s speeds are faster than their competitors, it doesn’t mean that it is the fastest everywhere in the US. So if you’re looking to switch to Sprint, you’ll definitely want to keep that in mind. While some areas may have amazing coverage and speed, others may not. And that goes for T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon as well.
