Uhans is one of many China-based smartphone manufacturers. This company hasn’t been around for that long, but have introduced two rather interesting devices in 2015, the Uhans U100 and U200. These two phones are actually quite similar to Vertu‘s offerings, but are nowhere near as expensive. They sport a rather odd design, and are definitely not fit for everyone. Well, Uhans is planning to release a new smartphone which will be far different than the U100 and U200, the company is aiming for a mainstream design his time around, read on.
Our source at the company has provided us with some details regarding Uhans S1, the company’s upcoming device. This smartphone will sport a 5-inch display, and will have very thin bezels, only 1.3mm according to our source. The phone will be made out of metal, and will have curved glass on the sides. MediaTek’s MT6753 64-bit octa-core processor will fuel this handset, and 3GB of RAM will be available on the inside. The 13-megapixel shooter will be available on the back of this phone, and a 5-megapixel shooter will be placed up front. The fingerprint scanner will be located on the phone’s back, and Android will come pre-installed, we still don’t know which version of the OS though (probably Android 5.X Lollipop).
If you take a look at the provided image, you’ll get to see the render of the device. This isn’t exactly a new design, we’ve seen tons of similar looking device, but that doesn’t mean it’s bad, the phone actually looks quite sleek in this image. Judging by the image, on-screen buttons will be available here, or the phone sports capacitive buttons but they’re not visible for whatever reason. Looking at the sensors above the display, it seems like the front-facing LED flash will be available here as well, though it’s possible we’re looking at a retina scanner here. Both the power / lock and volume rocker keys will be placed on the right-hand side of this device, and the SIM tray slot is located on the left. Our source also told us that this will be one of the most affordable MediaTek MT6753-powered devices out there, which is good to hear. We’ll report back when we know more, but you can expect this handset to launch really soon.
UPDATE: The company has reached out, and said that the phone actually has a metal frame, and glass on both its back and front. The frame of the device is made out of metal though.
