Tonight, President Obama will be delivering his final State of the Union address during his time as President of the United States. In 2017, we will have a new president. The State of the Union is presented by the President of the United States of America every January (around the second Tuesday of January), it’s where the President tells us the state of the country. The good, the bad and the ugly. Obama has done seven of these addresses before, and tonight will be his 8th and final address. There’s even talk that Obama will be addressing self-driving cars – which has seen a lot of press already in 2016 from CES and NAIAS last week and this, particularly due to Ford and GM. There will also be talk about gun laws, as that has been a huge topic as of late, and the usual schools, colleges, and every other issue plaguing the US.
With the Obama administration, the State of the Union address began being live streamed on YouTube, which is the leader of online video right now. His administration has been very active in social media during both of his four-year terms as well. In fact, just this week the White House joined Snapchat. This makes it easy for everyone to keep up with what is going on in the nation, especially when tragedy strikes, and is especially good for those cord cutters out there.
At 9pm Eastern Daylight Time tonight, President Barack Obama will be giving his State of the Union address, which will be live streamed on YouTube – you can watch it down below.
