The Mobile World Congress (MWC) is well on its way, we’ve already seen plenty of great products announced by various companies, including flagships from both Samsung and LG. That being said, Alcatel is also present at MWC in Barcelona, and as expected, this company is also ready to showcase some of their products. Alcatel is announcing quite a few devices at MWC, including three ‘POP 4‘ devices we’re here to talk about, read on.
The company has announced the POP 4, POP 4 Plus and POP 4S handsets. The company will actually offer these phones in various color options and styles, including Hairline-Brushed, Leather, Wood, Baby Skin… along with a number of regular color options. These are entry and mid-range level handsets, depending on which one we’re talking about. “To consumers in their early 20’s, the POP 4 smartphone is ‘designed by you, inside and out’. The POP 4 series offers a huge collection of covers to fit every personality. It’s the ultimate tailor-made smartphone because customization is always a top priority for us,” said CW Park, Chief Designer and General Manager of Global Design Center at Alcatel. That being said, let’s take a look at what these phones have to offer, shall we.
The Alcatel POP 4 is an entry-level device which features a 5-inch 720p display, along with 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of expandable internal storage. This smartphone is fueled by the Snapdragon 210 quad-core SoC clocked at 1.1GHz, and packs in a 2,500mAh battery. The 8-megapixel snapper is placed on the phone’s back, and a 5-megapixel shooter can be found up front. The device does offer 4G LTE connectivity, and it measures 140.7 x 71.4 x 7.99mm. The Alcatel POP 4+, on the other hand, is a somewhat bigger and more powerful version of the POP 4. The POP 4+ sports a 5.5-inch 720p panel, 1.5GB of RAM, and 16GB of expandable storage. This phone is also fueled by the Snapdragon 210 SoC running at 1.1GHz, and is sports a 2,500mAh battery on the inside. The device also sports 8 and 5-megapixel cameras, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes out of the box here, while this phone measures 151 x 77 x 7.99mm.
The Alcatel POP 4S is the most powerful ‘POP 4’ device the company has announced. This phone will ship with a 5.5-inch 1080p display, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable native storage. MediaTek’s MT6755M octa-core SoC fuels the device, and a 2,960mAh battery is placed on the inside. The 13-megapixel snapper can be found on the back of the phone, and a 5-megapixel shooter is available up front. Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes out of the box, and the device measures 152 x 76.8 x 7.99mm.
