Back in November, Audible debuted Android Auto support for their app in the beta version of the app. As of today’s update, Android Auto support is now there in the stable version. So for those with Android Auto, you’ll be able to listen to your favorite books in the car while you’re driving to/from work, or just in the car driving around. It’s a great improvement to the app. As far as the UI in Android Auto goes, it’s pretty similar to the other Android Auto apps that are available. You can jump back a few seconds, as well as jump forward. You can also increase the speed between 0.5x and 3x the normal speed. In the overflow menu, you’ll be able to switch between books and see what ones are available. However, it’s important to remember that you will need to download the book before you’re able to play it in Android Auto.
That’s not all that’s new in this update for Audible, however. As mentioned above, you can fine tune playback speed now, between 0.5x and 3x depending on the speed you’d like to have for your books to be read. Audible has also made it easier to access your wish list from within the app. In addition to that, there’s also easier access to best sellers, categories and even pre-orders. And of course, you have your usual bug fixes and performance improvements included in this update to Audible.
Audible is owned by Amazon, and you can get a free 30-day trial of Audible today. Otherwise, Audible is $14.95/month. It’s a great service, and there’s 1 book limit on the number of books you can read or listen to, actually since this is audio-books, each month. Audible has over 180,000 titles available for you to choose from. Giving you a great range of books to choose from. Audible also allows you to cancel your subscription at anytime, and it’s easy as can be to cancel it. You can download the Audible app from the Google Play Store as well. The app itself is free, but of course there is the subscription for Audible that is paid.
