The reason I like Android OS so much, is the freedom it provides. I believe that’s the case with many Android users, you can basically make the phone extremely productive, all you have to do is organize it properly with the right applications. There are tons of productivity apps available in the Google Play Store, and in combination with apps from some other categories you can really make your smartphone / tablet extremely functional, and that is something I truly appreciate.
That being said, we’re here to take a look at an app I stumbled upon quite recently, it’s called ‘Diesel: The Most Used Apps’. Now, I’ve installed this app on my smartphone for the purposes of this article, and I have to say I’m impressed. The app’s design is spot on, even though you won’t spend that much time inside the app itself… oh, and the performance is also above smooth, which explains the 4.6 rating in the Google Play Store. So, what is the purpose of Diesel? Well, the app’s full name actually reveals part of the story, but this app will essentially put your most used / recently used apps in the notification tray. This is not the first application to do this though, I’ve actually stumbled upon tons of such apps over the years, but Diesel is a really polished product which offers quite a few customizability options in settings. Putting apps, well, app shortcuts, in the notification tray, will give you easy access to them whatever you’re currently doing on your phone.
As already mentioned, there are various settings available in options of this app, you can, for example, blacklist unwanted apps, use themes, look at usage statistics, and the app even supports icon packs from different launchers. These are just some options I’ve listed, there are plenty more in the app itself. Now, Diesel really has lots to offer, presuming you don’t mind your notification tray to be somewhat more cluttered than usual, the tradeoff might be worth it. If you take a look at the embedded video or gallery down below, you’ll get to see the app itself, just in case you need more info before you hit the Google Play banner and install this application on your device.
