Huawei has been one of the most successful smartphone manufacturers last year. The company has managed to increase their profits considerably, and at the same time they became the world’s third-largest smartphone manufacturer. Huawei has shipped 108 million smartphones in 2015, and they’ll be looking to improve upon that this year, and also expand to additional markets as part of the equation.
This company has introduced a number low, mid and high-end smartphones last year. The Huawei Mate 8, Nexus 6P and Huawei Watch might be their best-known products, but the Honor 5X, for example, is selling extremely well as well. The company’s Honor devices have been quite successful in terms of sales, and some of their even lower-end devices are appealing to certain consumers as well. Huawei has actually just introduced one such device, the Huawei Y6 Pro. This is a ‘Pro’ variant of the Y6 handset which was introduced last year, and this is actually the global variant of the Enjoy 5 handset which was introduced a while back in China. The Huawei Y6 Pro features a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display, along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The phone is fueled by MediaTek’s MT6735P 64-bit quad-core SoC running at 1.3GHz, and a 4,000mAh battery is available on the inside. The 13-megapixel snapper can be found on the back of this phone, and a 5-megapixel shooter is placed on its front side. Android 5.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed here with Huawei’s Emotion UI (EMUI) 3.1 Lite on top of it. The phone measures 143.1 x 71.8 x 9.7mm, while it weighs 160 grams.
As far as the design is concerned, this is a nice looking phone. It sports on-screen buttons and a metallic trim around the device, while both the power / lock and volume rocker buttons are placed on the right-hand side of this phone. The device actually resembles some other Huawei-branded devices we’ve seen released last year. The Y6 Pro comes in Gold, Gray and White color options, but we still don’t know how much will it cost once it becomes available considering Huawei didn’t release any availability or pricing info just yet. We’ll make sure to report back when the company shares additional info, stay tuned.
