Samsung has, for the first time ever, introduced four flagships last year. The company has first unveiled the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge back in March, and these two smartphones were followed by the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ phablets. That being said, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge smartphones were first on Samsung’s list for Android 6.0 Marshmallow update, as it should be, but we heard that the company is working on Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ Marshmallow update as well.
That being said, an unknown tipster sent SamMobile a number of images which showcase Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow running on the Galaxy Note 5 phablet. If you take a look below this article, you’ll get to see 13 images which show off Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow installed on the Galaxy Note 5. Now, keep in mind that this variant of Android will almost certainly come pre-installed on the upcoming Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge handsets, at least according to various benchmark listings. Galaxy Note 5’s variant of Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow actually resembles the one we’ve seen installed on the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, there are some visual changes compared to Android 5.1-powered TouchWiz, that’s for sure. The person who sent this tip to the source added that the phone runs real smooth, though it was really smooth on Android 5.1 Lollipop as well.
The Galaxy Note 5 sports a 5.7-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) Super AMOLED panel, 4GB of RAM and 32 / 64 / 128GB of non-expandable internal storage. The device is fueled by Samsung’s Exynos 7420 64-bit octa-core processor, and a 3,000mAh non-removable battery is available on the inside. The 16-megapixel OIS snapper can be found on the back of this phablet, and a 5-megapixel shooter is placed up front. Android 5.1.1 Lollipop comes out of the box on this device, along with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI which is installed on top of Google’s OS. That’s pretty much it for now, the Galaxy Note 5 is expected to receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in the coming weeks, stay tuned for additional info.
