In recent times, LG has been making very good mobile devices, so along Samsung’s new flagship devices, the LG G5 is considered as one of the most anticipated flagship smartphones of MWC 2016. The LG G5 will feature a very different design compared to the one of its predecessors, this time, the company apparently decided to follow the trend of building their new flagship with a unibody made of aluminum and the signature back-mounted volume buttons will be relocated into a more conventional position on the side of the phone. This phone should be quite powerful as it will be one of the first devices to be powered by the Snapdragon 820 processor, a fact that got confirmed by Qualcomm itself.
The LG G5 is also expected to integrate some innovations like the rumored “magic slot”, which will allow additional hardware to be attached to the phone and bring a few extra features. For example, users can get better pictures and even better ergonomics with an add-on accessory, or they could get a better audio experience with other accessory designed for this port. The event where LG will unveil the G5 will take place this Sunday, February 21 in Barcelona at 2 PM (local time), which translates to 8 AM Eastern or 5 AM Pacific.
Users will be able to live stream the event from LG Mobile’s Korean channel in YouTube (you can bookmark the link at the source). These events are fun to watch most of the times, as the companies show off their brand new gadgets and explain everything, from the elements that inspire their design to the innovative functionality they managed to integrate in them. Plus, the company could have other devices that we still don’t know about. It will be particularly exciting to see how the “magic slot” works, as this would be an approach towards modular designs. The new dual-camera setup from the G5 is another uncommon feature, so it will be interesting to see how the company uses it on their new smartphone. Other rumored specs include a 5.3-inch display with QHD resolution, 4 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage and a 16-megapixel camera on the back.
