LG, Samsung, Sony and LG have all introduced their flagships at this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. We’ve covered the launch of those devices at length, and as the Mobile World Congress (MWC) moved towards the end, various rewards were handed out to the announced gadgets. Well, LG’s all-new LG G5 flagship has received quite a few of them from various sources, and we’re here to talk about one in particular, read on.
The LG G5 can be considered to be a first modular smartphone, at least that’s what most sites call it. This smartphone comes with a removable ‘chin’ on the bottom of the device, which actually offers tons of options for expandability. LG has introduced some of their official ‘modules’ which can be attached to the bottom of the device, like the LG CAM Plus module, for example. Well, thank to that, and a number of other features, this handset has been picked out as the best mobile smartphone this year at the GSMA Global Mobile Awards. The device has actually been awarded over 30 prizes from various tech sites, which is definitely a testament to LG’s work.
Now, at the same time, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and Gear S2 were named as the best smartphone and connected device of 2015 by GSMA Global Mobile Awards. The Galaxy S6 Edge was highly praised for its world class camera, display, SoC, wireless charging and payment solutions, while the Gear S2’s convenience of use and great design were mentioned. And last, but not least, the SK Telecom has been voted the best base technology provider at the GSMA Global Mobile Awards. SK Telecom is actually aiming to launch their network performance monitoring solution in partnership with Accedian.
That’s more or less it. The Mobile World Congress was really exciting and we sure did see plenty of great tech, especially when smartphones are concerned. We’ve seen great flagship offerings from four companies this time around, and it will surely going to be interesting to see how will their sales go. Will the completely re-designed LG G5 sales boom, or will perhaps the polished up Galaxy S7 / S7 Edge rule the Android market even more than last year? Well, we’ll see.
