The real dust has settled at MWC now that the new LG G5 and Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge have made their appearances, but that does not mean other manufacturers will be there with other devices to talk about…specifically, the new HTC One M10. HTC made a conscious decision to actually announce the One M10 at an event following MWC, rather than be upstaged by LG and Samsung. With all of the rumors and stories about the new Galaxy S7 Edge and LG G5, very few leaks about the One M10 have presented themselves. A few days ago the very reliable @evleaks posted an image he claims is the HTC One M10 in white and the next day another website posted what they claim is the One M10 in black. Today, another leaked image claims to be the silver back of the HTC One M10 – so it looks like more leaks will start rolling in.
It is difficult to pin down many of the HTC One M10’s specifications, but many are calling for a 5.2-inch QHD display, which means a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. Some think it will be an AMOLED display and others are betting on an IPS LCD display. Most likely the One M10 will be using the newest 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor and the Adreno 530 GPU for graphics. It should come packing 4GB of DDR4 RAM and most likely 32GB of expandable internal memory.
The camera area is also subject of much speculation – from all of the leaked images, HTC appears to have stayed with a single camera, but rumor has that it may use a 12.3MP (Sony’s IMX377 sensor) and use larger pixels (1.55um) like the Nexus 5X and 6P as well as the new Samsung Galaxy S7/S7 Edge. That sensor uses the phase detect autofocus system. Not much is known about the front-facing camera, but HTC may stick with the 4MP UltraPixel that worked on the One M9.
There is little else we know or can speculate about the HTC One M10 until more leaks are made available from reliable sources. From all of the pictures of the front, we can say that it should definitely have a fingerprint sensor and since it will be shipping with Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the One M10 will be able to authorize Android Pay mobile purchases by using the sensor. The picture from the back shows a nicely machined edge.
