The Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona is right around the corner, and we already know that Samsung, LG and Xiaomi will release their flagship devices during the trade show. Samsung will introduce the Galaxy S7 & S7 Edge, LG will showcase their LG G5 smartphone, and Xiaomi will finally introduce the MI 5 flagship. That being said, HTC won’t release the One M10 during MWC, but it seems like they’re planning to showcase that handset either in March or April.
That being said, we’ve already seen tons of One M10 aka ‘Perfume’ rumors and leaks. That handset will, allegedly, resemble the One A9 quite a bit, and a recent concept render reflects that. Anyhow, @evleaks mentioned recently that M10 might reach the US in the week of May 9th, and now he has yet another piece of info to share with us. This time around, however, we’re not going to talk about the One M10, but HTC’s allegedly upcoming smartwatch. The tipster didn’t exactly reveal all that much info, but he did say the following: “Small consolation, HTC fans: you’ll be able to pick up the watch before the end of April”. Now, according to this piece of info, HTC’s smartwatch might actually go on sale earlier than HTC’s new flagship, or perhaps at the same time, depending on which rumor you opt to believe.
HTC’s smartwatch has been rumored before, but we really didn’t get all that much info thus far. Some rumors were saying that it will arrive before the end of last year, and some of that claimed that will happen this year. One thing is for sure though, HTC will have to come up with a really stunning design in order for this thing to sell well, not to mention Android Wear might be their best bet at the moment. This watch will, quite probably, going to be made out of metal, but we still don’t know whether to expect it to sport a square or round design. There are quite a few stunning Android Wear-powered offerings out in the market already, like the Huawei Watch, Moto 360 (both generations), Asus’ ZenWatch (both generations), etc. It will be interesting to see what will HTC come up with, stay tuned.
