Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Specifications

Samsung has finally announced their Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge flagship smartphones. These two devices have been leaking for months now, and the company finally took the wraps off in Barcelona, during their Unpacked press event. We’ve already covered announcements of both of those devices, as well as the Galaxy S7 specifications. Well, we’re here to take an in-depth look at the Galaxy S7 Edge specifications, and see what the phone has to offer, read on.

The Galaxy S7 Edge is quite similar to its sibling in terms of sheer design. Both devices are made out of metal and glass, while their specs are also similar, but there are some differences. The device is made out of metallic chassis which is placed in-between two pieces of glass, and the back of the device is curved, which wasn’t the case with its predecessor. Anyhow, the most obvious difference between the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge is the size, the Galaxy S7 Edge sports a bigger 5.5-inch QHD (2560 x 1440, 534ppi) Super AMOLED ‘Dual edge’ curved display, and a bigger 3,600mAh non-removable battery which lies on the inside of this phone. You’ll be able to use both fast charging and fast wireless charging here, though you’ll need a separate charging pad in order to take advantage of (fast) wireless charging. Now, the display on the Galaxy S7 Edge, sports the ‘always-on’ functionality, much like the one on the Galaxy S7. This handset is also fueled by the Snapdragon 820 64-bit quad-core processor (4 x 2.15GHz, 4 x 1.6GHz) which ships with an Adreno 530 GPU for graphics, or the Samsung Exynos 8890 64-bit octa-core processor (4 x 2.3GHz, 4 x 1.6GHz) with the Mali T880 GPU, depending on the market.

On the inside of this phone, you’ll find 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM, and either 32GB of internal storage (expandable up to 200GB via a microSD card). Keep in mind that you can expand upon the storage of this phone using a microSD card slot which is available here. The Galaxy S7 Edge sports a 12-megapixel OIS ‘Dual Pixel’ camera (f/1.7 aperture) on its back, while there’s a 5-megapixel shooter (f/1.7 aperture) included up front, same sensors are included in the Galaxy S7 as well. Next to this snapper, you’ll find the dual-LED, dual tone flash, heart rate sensor, and on the bottom of the device lies the micro USB port for charging. The power / lock button is located on the right side of the Galaxy S7 Edge, while the volume rocker buttons are placed on the left-hand side of this phone. Android 6 Marshmallow comes pre-installed on this handset, and Samsung’s TouchWiz UI is available on top of it. On top of everything mentioned above, the Galaxy S7 Edge also comes with the IP68 certification for water and dust resistance. The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge measures 150.9 x 72.6 x 7.7mm, while it weighs 157 grams. This smartphone comes in Black Onyx, Gold Platinum and Silver Titanium color options.
