Since launching Samsung Pay last fall, on their 2016 flagship devices (those are the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Galaxy Note 5), Samsung has been coming up with ways to get users to actually use Samsung Pay. They’ve given out wireless chargers before, and now they are offering up their Level U Wireless Headphones for those that sign up and activate Samsung Pay. Not a bad prize for activating Samsung Pay, which takes only a minute. You won’t need to buy anything, simply just sign up and add a qualifying card to Samsung Pay and you’re all set. Of course, if you want to use it to buy something, Samsung would be more than happy to allow you. Since Samsung Pay works virtually everywhere, it makes things much easier.
Samsung Pay uses MST or Magnetic Secure Transmission. This is the same magnetic strip that is used for reading your typical credit cards. Which means, theoretically that every retailer can take Samsung Pay. You can also use NFC, like you would with Android Pay. Samsung Pay is also available in a ton of countries, with more coming at Unpacked (including most of Europe). Oddly enough, with Samsung Pay only being available on 4 smartphones, it has actually gained more traction than Android Pay. That is mostly due to the ease of use with Samsung Pay.
The Level U Wireless Headphones are basically Samsung’s answer to LG’s Tone headphones. These are the around-the-neck headphones from Samsung, but also provide some spectacular sound. We’ve reviewed them here on the site in the past few months and we absolutely loved them. Not only are they comfortable, but they are also great in terms of battery life. Lasting around 8-10 hours before needing another charge. Hard to ask for more than that when looking at a pair of headphones that are as lightweight as these.
