Sprint subscribers wanting to upgrade their smartphones are in luck. The carrier has just announced the launch of a new promo scheme, whereby users will be able to trade in a fully paid-for smartphone in working condition and get a flat $200 off on either the Galaxy S6 or the Galaxy Note 5. The two devices, along with the Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 Edge+, are the latest premium smartphones from Samsung. The offer is only open for Sprint customers who already own their respective smartphones, meaning, those leasing their devices will not be able to take advantage of the discounted price. The offer can also be combined with other schemes, like the much-hyped ‘Cut your Bill in Half” promo, which offers a fifty percent bill discount to subscribers of rival networks as an incentive to switch over to Sprint.
For those wondering about prices, with the $200 discount, those with good credit history can get a Galaxy S6 (32 GB model) for zero down and around $9.67 a month for 24-months. If you’d rather get the large-screened Galaxy Note 5, the 32 GB model of the device can be had for zero down and just about $16.67 a month for the duration of 2 years. The offer is currently only available at Sprint retail outlets nationwide, but will also be available online by this weekend, according to the press release. The carrier hasn’t officially announced when this offer will end, but has declared it to be a “limited time offer”. Interested users should make their minds up quick, lest Sprint withdraws the discount sooner than its subscribers would want it to.
This isn’t the first time Sprint is offering $200 off towards a flagship smartphone for a trade-in. Only last month, the carrier started a promo with a similar offer, but with the LG G4. There’s one notable difference though. While that scheme was open to subscribers from rival carriers, this one seems to be applicable only to existing Sprint subscribers. Either way, those who missed that bus or had their hearts set on buying a Samsung device, this latest promo provides an opportunity to get a popular flagship smartphone at a pretty decent discount. Of course, with the Galaxy S7 rumored to launch soon enough, the S6 will no longer be the top dog in the Samsung stables, but it still remains a top performer when compared to many other devices currently on the market.
