The Xiaomi Mi 5 rumors and leaks have been surfacing for months now. The company has already confirmed that the phone will be unveiled on February 24th both in Beijing and Barcelona, and they company’s officials have also confirmed various aspects of this phone. The Mi 5 is confirmed to sport a 1080p (1920 x 1080) display, Snapdragon 820 64-bit quad-core processor, NFC and two SIM card slots. That being said, the phone’s detailed specs leaked out recently, and we’ll talk about that in a minute, let’s first focus on the newest piece of info, shall we.
We’ve seen tons of Mi 5 leaked images thus far, some of those images were hard to believe, others look fairly believable. Well, a couple of new images leaked recently, though these images are not exactly leaked shots of the actual device, but more of a concept renders created by a third-party side based on various leaks. If you take a look at the gallery down below, you’ll get to see six Xiaomi Mi 5 concept renders which show off a device similar to the Samsung Galaxy S6. The phone sports a metal chassis which is stuck between two sheets of glass. The speaker grills are placed on the bottom of the phone, and in-between them you’ll notice the Type-C USB port. The power / lock and volume rocker physical buttons are placed on the right-hand side of the device, and a physical home button is located below the display. The 3.5mm headphone jack is available on the top of the device, and you also get a good look at the phone’s camera, dual-LED flash, and the Xiaomi branding on the back. The side bezels on this phone are quite minimal, but they’re still there it seems.
That being said, the Xiaomi Mi 5 is said to arrive in both 3GB and 4GB variants. The 3GB model will, allegedly, ship with 32GB of internal storage, while the 4GB variant is expected to sport 64GB of native storage on the inside. The microSD expansion slot will also be available here, if leaks are to be believed, and on the back of the phone you’ll be able to find a 16-megapixel snapper. Android 6.0 Marshmallow will probably come pre-installed on the Mi 5, and the company’s Android-based MIUI 7 OS will be available on top of it.
