Verizon Creates A Case Loyalty Program "For Everyone"

Buying a smartphone (especially of the high-end variety) is an investment, and should be treated as such. No one understands this better than smartphone case vendors, who are constantly looking to capitalize on big device announcements. This year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) was no exception. The conference wrapped up today, and there were more than a few high-profile hardware announcements made throughout the conference. Both of the recent offerings from Samsung and LG look particularly enticing, and the accessories market has responded with a large variety of cases for potential smartphone buyers. Verizon Wireless has also joined the fray by announcing a very unique case purchasing program that anyone (on any carrier) can take advantage of.

The program (which Verizon dubs the “Case Loyalty Program”) works like this: If you buy a smartphone or tablet case from Verizon at full price, you’ll eventually receive a 25% discount for your next case purchase. Once you decide you’re bored with the first case you bought, you can use your discount code to buy another, and then you’ll receive an additional discount code, this time for 30% off your next purchase. If you’re not completely satisfied with the second case, you can redeem your 30% code for an additional discount offer of 35% off. It’s a very novel sales pitch, and it’ll definitely have some appeal with users who like to switch up their cases more frequently.

What’s really interesting about the new program is that you don’t have to be a Verizon Wireless subscriber in order to take advantage. The discount codes will be available and usable for all buyers, regardless of who they get their wireless service from. With that being said, you can’t just start buying discounted cases a day after you purchase the first. Verizon will only email the discount codes 60-90 days after purchase, and the codes have to be redeemed within 30 days of their receipt. Despite those caveats, the program could be useful to buyers looking to save a few dollars on a smartphone case without being stuck with the same one all the time. If you’re in the market for a case to protect your shiny new smartphone purchase, you might want to check it out.
