The Xiaomi Mi 5 has leaked out plenty of times thus far. We’ve seen various different leaks surface, and it’s kind of difficult to pick the real one out of the bunch. Numerous phone specs surfaced as well, and luckily for us, the device is only a couple of days from being announced, everything will be revealed on February 24th when Xiaomi plans to introduce this smartphone both in Beijing and in Barcelona as part of the Mobile World Congress (MWC).
That being said, we’ll probably see more leaks before that happens, leaks like the one that surfaced quite recently. If you take a look at the provided image, you’ll get to see a real life image of the alleged Xiaomi Mi 5 handset. As you can see, the device kind of resembles some of LeEco’s products, with the addition of the home button below the display. As you probably already know, Xiaomi has been relentlessly using capacitive buttons, but it seems like the Mi 5 will change things around a little bit. That physical home button will, allegedly, have a fingerprint scanner built-in, and as you can see, the bezels are quite thin as well on this phone. Now, as you can see, MIUI is running on this phone, as it should, and we even get to see that the phone is running Android 6.0 Marshmallow underneath Xiaomi’s MIUI OS. Now, we cannot know for sure this is the Xiaomi Mi 5, but it sure seems like the real deal.
According to previous rumors and leaks, the Xiaomi Mi 5 will feature a 5.2-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display, 3GB / 4GB of RAM and 32GB / 64GB of internal storage. The device will be fueled by the Snapdragon 820 SoC, along with an Adreno 530 GPU for graphics. The 16-megapixel snapper will be located on the back of this phone, and a 5-megapixel shooter will quite probably going to be available up front. The device will ship with NFC and dual-SIM, as it was confirmed by the company’s co-founder a while back, and same can be said about Snapdragon 820 SoC and a fullHD display. 4G LTE connectivity will also be available, of course, and you can expect this phone to be made out of metal, or metal in combination with glass on both its front and back side, both variants have been rumored thus far. That’s more or less it, all that remains now is to wait for the official announcement, and if anything surfaces before then, we’ll let you know.
