Quite a few smartphone manufacturing companies are located in China, and some of them are very well known amongst consumers, like Huawei, ZTE, Xiaomi, etc. Well, there are tons of such companies which are not all that well known, but very few of them are backed by the big boys, like QiKU for example. This company was founded last year, and it is backed by Qihoo 360, a China-based tech giant. QiKU has released three smartphones last year, and we were waiting for them to introduce something this year. Well, not long ago, QiKU has announced March 21st event, and interestingly enough, the device that surfaced was branded ‘360’, not QiKU. Well, the company has unveiled the phone, and we basically know everything there is to know about it, read on.
Now, it seems like Qihoo 360 decided to rebrand QiKU without the pre-launch official announcement. The device that was launched today is named 360 F4, which suggests that ‘QiKU’ renamed to ‘360’. This is an odd naming for a company, that’s for sure, but at least it’s easy to remember and it’s quite recognizable. This isn’t exactly the high-end device that some of us were expecting, but rather a rather affordable, and yet well-specced metal-clad mid-ranger. This smartphone sports a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display, along with 2GB / 3GB of RAM. The 2GB RAM model will ship with 16GB of internal storage, while the 3GB RAM variant will come with 32GB of native storage. Both of these models offer an expansion of up to 128GB via a microSD card, and a 13-megapixel snapper is placed on the back of the 360 F4. The 5-megapixel shooter is located on the front side of this smartphone, and Android 5.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed on this device with 360 OS on top of it. The 2,500mAh battery is non-removable, and the device weighs 128 grams.
The phone comes in Black, White, Gold, Pink and Blue color options. Now, as far as pricing goes, the lower-end model costs 599 Yuan ($92) in China, while the higher-end variant costs 799 Yuan ($123). Those of you who live in China will be able to register for the first flash sale starting today, and the sale will take place on March 25th.
