Featured: Top 10 Apps for the 2016 NCAA Tournament

The NCAA Tournament is set for 2016, and actually it’s already begun. Can the four top seeds make it to the final four in early April? That’s what March Madness is all about. You can catch all of the action on your smartphone, like you can every year, but there’s even more ways to watch all 67 games of this year’s tournament.

ESPN Tournament Challenge

One of the popular ways that people bet on the challenge, or just have fun, is by making their own bracket. Which you can do so with the ESPN Tournament Challenge. You can make as many brackets as you wish, and you can also play for money, or just play for fun. But be careful, it’s almost impossible to get every single prediction correct. March is full of upsets, especially during the NCAA Tournament.

NCAA March Madness

Now this is the app that you must have to watch all of the games live. The NCAA March Madness app is streaming all 67 games of the tournament live in the app, and in fact they updated the app earlier this week for the tournament. You’ll be able to keep up with what’s happening on social media during the tournament and so much more.

CBS Sports

While you can’t stream all of the games with the CBS Sports app, however you can keep up with what’s happening during the tournament. Including the scores, highlights, schedule and so much more. And with 48 games taking place between Thursday and Sunday, there’s plenty of action to keep up with during those four days.

Google Now

Okay, this isn’t really an app, since it is already installed on your phone, but Google Now is a great resource for keeping up with your team in the Tournament. If you’re only interested in what your team is doing, then Google Now is great. It’ll automatically show you the scores and results from your team(s) games and even show you some highlights.

ESPN

Another great app here for keeping up with the scores, schedule and highlights from the tournament. ESPN does much more than just covering the NCAA Tournament. If your team made it to the NIT Tournament, you can also use the app to follow the scores, and more from that tournament as well. In addition to other sports including the NBA, College Football, the NFL, NHL, MLB and so much more.

theScore

theScore is great for bringing you the latest on every sport. Now that it’s tournament season, they have a section specifically for the NCAA Tournament. So you’ll be able to keep up with what’s happening as it happens. On top of the Tourney, theScore also hosts a ton of other content for sports like the NFL, MLS, MLB, NHL, NBA, College Football and loads more. Making it a great source for anything sports related.

WatchESPN

Those that might want to catch up on ESPN programming while you’re not home, will want to check out WatchESPN. With this app you can watch virtually any content ESPN has produced. Both live and content that already aired. This is another good app for finding highlights of the Tourney, especially since none of the games are on ESPN’s network of channels.

Bracket Maker & Tournament App

With Bracket Maker & Tournament app, you can create your own bracket and see how well you’ve done during the course of March Madness, leading up to the national championship game on April 4th. It’s all free, and you can join in with another game, or create your own for playing along with your friends.

NCAA Final Four

This app will be updated just before the Final Four weekend which is April 2nd through the 4th, and it will provide all sorts of coverage and information for that weekend with the final three games of the tournament. This year the final four is taking place in Houston and should be a great set of games. Within the app you can buy tickets – if any are still available – find your way around the stadium and so much more.

Yahoo Sports

Want to find the scores of all the games leading up to the Sweet 16? Use Yahoo Sports. It’ll bring you all of the stats, scores, highlights and so much more from all of the games during the NCAA Tournament. Much like other sports apps on this list, Yahoo Sports will also include a bunch of other sports including NBA, College Football, MLS, NHL and so much more.
