Featured: Top 10 Best Accessories for March 2016

Buying a smartphone is just the first step. The next step is buying accessories to go with that smartphone. Or as LG calls them, “Friends”. Each month there are loads of new accessories announced and made available, and we bring you some of the best new accessories as well as those that may have flown under the radar, in our monthly top 10. So let’s get into what’s new for March.

RAVPower Quick Charge 3.0 20100mAh Power Bank

This isn’t necessarily new, but it’s gaining popularity now with Quick Charge 3.0 devices becoming available. This power bank from RAVPower has a 20,100mAh capacity. But that’s not the selling point. The selling point here is that it has three outlets, all of which are different. First up we have a USB Type-A port which can output at 2.4A. Then we have another USB Type-A port which can do 3A or Quick Charge 3.0, finally there’s a USB Type-C port, great for charging the new LG G5.

Tronsmart USB Type-C Wall Adapter

Those looking to pick up the LG G5 in the near future will definitely love this wall charger. It’s a USB Type-C but also a USB Type-A wall adapter, allowing you to charge any device with the same adapter. And it’s also future proof considering it has USB Type-C, which is what the LG G5 and a few other smartphones are using these days, including the Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X and OnePlus Two.

Amazon Tap

If you’ve been a fan of the Amazon Echo, but would rather have something that is a bit more portable, Amazon announced the Amazon Tap this month. It’s a portable version of the Echo, complete with the Alexa voice assistant inside. Now she’s not always listening, and you’ll have to press a button to talk to her. But it does have an internal battery this time around. You’ll still be able to use the Amazon Tap to control your home with Philips Hue or Belkin WeMo as well.

Fitbit Blaze

Announced at CES 2016, it’s finally available. This is Fitbit’s latest wearable, and it comes in a bit cheaper than the Surge at $199. It’s a “modular” fitness watch, allowing you to swap out the bands. Which are silicon by default, and available in a few different colors. But they also have a few leather and metal models. The Fitbit Blaze also has a few short and quick workouts inside that help you get your sweat on without heading to the gym, because not everyone has time for that.

Garmin vivofit 3

Garmin also announced the vivofit 3 recently, as the third generation of their fitness band. This comes in at $99, and doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of its also newly announced vivoactive HR fitness watch. However it can still track your activity, as well as calories burned, sleep, and so much more. Garmin also promises one year of battery life, meaning you won’t need to recharge this at all.

Moto 360 (2nd Gen) 

Announced last fall, the Moto 360 (2nd Gen) is another great smartwatch to pick up. It does run on Android Wear, so it’s compatible with Android and iOS. Additionally you have access to hundreds of apps that are compatible. Including Google Fit, for those that want to get a bit more healthy or are into fitness. The Moto 360 (2nd Gen) does come in a variety of styles as well.

FurniQi

Maybe not an actual accessory, but FurniQi is pretty darn sweet. It’s a side table that has Qi Wireless charging built into it. Allowing you to just place down your phone anywhere and have it automatically start charging. Both the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge feature Qi Wireless charging, making it a pretty big deal, especially for those upgrading to either device.

Spigen Rugged Armor for Galaxy S7

With the Galaxy S7 launch happening this week, it’s a good idea to pick up a case for your brand new Galaxy S7. The Spigen Rugged Armor is a great case to pick up as it protects all sides of the Galaxy S7. Especially important considering the back and front of the device is made of glass. Additionally, it looks pretty darn good on the Galaxy S7.

The Galaxy S7 Edge is going to need some protection as well, and what better case to pick up than the Caseology Wavelength Series. Aukey Quick Charge 3.0 Car Charger

Aukey has a great Quick Charge 3.0 car charger here that will work with the HTC One A9, Samsung Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge and LG G5 as they all support Quick Charge 3.0 – it’s also backwards compatible with any other smartphone or tablet. This is a dual-port charger, so the driver can charge their device while the passenger does the same, without having to fight over the juice.
