HTC is continuing to tease their upcoming smartphone, the HTC 10 – which hasn’t been officially named but it is shown in these teasers – and their latest teaser has to do with the camera. Now at MWC last month in Barcelona, a few HTC executives did note that the smartphone would have a pretty amazing camera experience, and be nothing like anyone has ever seen before. That got a lot of people excited. After all, the HTC One M7, M8 and M9 cameras have been, not very good. To put it lightly. The rumor on the street is that HTC is using the Sony IMX377 sensor that is also used in the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P for this upcoming smartphone. Which has been shown to be a pretty decent sensor, which would put the rest of the experience on the software side of things.
Now HTC, is teasing on Twitter that the cameras on both the front and back of the HTC 10 will be “World First, World Class”. Not quite sure what to make of the first part. But we would definitely like to see a “world class” camera from HTC. After all, that has been their only real issue with their last few smartphones. According to their tweet “World First, World Class, Front and Back. You’ll see.” with the hashtag #powerof10 added at the end.
While HTC hasn’t yet made an event public for the HTC 10, it’s likely going to be happening pretty soon. Especially with all of these teasers coming out. But they also need to release it soon, or they’ll lose out on a ton of potential customers. Considering the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge are already available, and we all know how good Samsung is at marketing their devices. As well as the LG G5 coming out at the beginning of April. HTC is starting to run out of time, so hopefully it’ll be announced soon. The HTC 10 seems to check all of the boxes spec wise. So the real issues will be design – which HTC is normally pretty good at – and the camera. We’ll have to wait and see, for now.
