Jide Releases Remix OS 2.0 Beta Download For All

Jide may not be a name many in the Android world are familiar with, but it’s a name quickly picking up recognition as they have not only released the Remix Ultra Tablet and the Remix Mini Android PC, but they have also announced and pushed out a downloadable PC version of the Remix OS that powers those two hardware devices, making it possible for anyone to simply download and install Remix OS on existing PC hardware instead of buying a whole new device. As of early January Jide made the first version of the Remix OS 2.0 available for download from their website, and today they have announced that the beta version of Remix OS 2.0 for PC is also now available to download and install for anyone that is interested in giving Remix OS a try.

In addition to releasing Remix OS 2.0 for PC in beta form, Jide has also given instructions on how to install Remix OS 2.0 onto the Remix Ultra Tablet for those who own the hardware, which showcases that they’re trying to make sure their devices as well as anyone who just wants the software are all streamlined to having the same version available if they want it.

As this is not the first time that Remix OS 2.0 for PC has been available, various users will have already had the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of the platform, which takes the base of Android software and skins it to look and function more like a traditional desktop computing system complete with taskbars, multiwindow support, a start menu and more. As this is the beta it does however introduce some new features, including 32-bit support and a hardware installer option for those that wish to dual boot Remix OS 2.0 along with an existing Windows OS that’s on the machine. It also introduces UEFI support and it brings the ability to receive OTA software updates for the platform so users will no longer have to update things manually, which should be quite the nice touch. These new features are all alongside the numerous bug fixes which Jide has brought to the software which reaches in excess of more than 50 bugs. If you’re wanting to dive into Remix OS 2.0 for PC and check things out for yourself, you can watch the video below on the changes and head to the Jide website for the download files.
