LeEco's VP Shares A Photo Captured By The LeEco Le 2

LeEco has been all over the news recently. This China-based company has actually launched the first ever Snapdragon 820-powered smartphone back in January, the Le Max Pro. This handset isn’t exactly available for purchase just yet, the company did sell around 1,000 units a while back, but those were not exactly mass production devices. That being said, LeEco has announced their April 20th event during which you can expect some new smartphones to be announced, quite possibly the Le 2, Le 2 Pro and Le Max 2. This Chinese smartphone manufacturer has introduced their predecessors in April last year, so this certainly makes sense, and we’ve already seen various benchmark listings and leaks when it comes to all of these devices.

That being said, LeEco’s Senior VP has actually decided to tease the arrival of the Le 2 once again. The company’s Senior VP, Feng Xing, has shared a sample photo from the Le 2 on his official Weibo (Chinese social network) account. You can check out the image down below, and for the original resolution, follow the source link down below, but keep in mind that the image has been cropped (to 2730 x 2048) on Weibo as well. Now, the image itself looks quite alright, the colors seem to be on point, and the focus is right where it should be as well, even though details could be more pronounced. We cannot really tell much about the camera based on this image though, not only is it the only shared image, but it is cropped as well, we’ll have to wait for more samples, preferably in full resolution.

Now, as far as the device itself goes, we’ve seen various different listings thus far. A recent AnTuTu listing reported that the device will be fueled by the Snapdragon 652, while GFXBench said that it will pack the Helio X25 SoC, which is highly unlikely. Now, some previous info suggested that we might find the Snapdragon 820 on the inside. As you probably already know, LeEco will probably introduce both the LeEco Le 2 and Le 2 Pro, so it is possible that the Le 2 will be fueled by the Snapdragon 652, while the Le 2 Pro will ship with the Snapdragon 820, though we cannot be sure of that just yet. In any case, pretty much every benchmark listing reported that LeEco plans to include a 16-megapixel snapper on the LeEco Le 2, so chances are this image was taken using such a camera. We still don’t know what exact sensor to expect here though, so stay tuned, we’re sure more info will leak prior to the launch event.
