OnePlus One was one of the best smartphones of 2014, and the OnePlus 2 was quite popular last year as well. This company is expected to release their third-gen flagship this year, and they’ve already confirmed that the phone will be announced before the end of second quarter this year, or in other words, before the end of June. There were some rumors lately saying that the phone will be announced on April 7th, but the company has decided to officially deny those rumors, saying that the OnePlus 3 won’t be announced so soon, though they do intend to announce something on April 7th (quite probably the all-new version of Hydrogen OS).
That being said, a new OnePlus 3 leak just surfaced, and it will make quite a few people happy it seems. As some of you might know, the OnePlus 2 did not offer a Fast Charge option despite the fact it shipped with the Type-C USB port, well, its successor might. According to the newly-leaked patent application ‘OnePlus Lightning’, the OnePlus 3 will be equipped with Fast Charge. Now. this patent application does not specifically mentions the OnePlus 3, but considering this is the company’s patent application, it is expected their all-new flagship comes with the option. This is not all that surprising, as we did expect OnePlus 3 to sport some sort of Fast Charging, but there you have it. That being said, this patent application really does not reveal all that much info, we’ll have to wait for the company to introduce the device before we’re able to elaborate on this.
Now, the alleged OnePlus 3 surfaced on AnTuTu quite recently with the A3000 codename. According to that listing, the device will be fueled by the Snapdragon 820 64-bit quad-core SoC, along with the Adreno 530 GPU for graphics. The phone will also ship with a fullHD (1920 x 1080) display, and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow will come out of the box, with the company’s Oxygen OS, or Hydrogen OS on top of it (region-dependent). The 16-megapixel rear-facing shooter has also been listed, and the phone will probably sport an 8-megapixel snapper up front. The OnePlus 3 will ship with 4GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage as well, at least according to AnTuTu.
