Smartwatches are still not mainstream, but they’re slowly creeping into our daily usage scenarios. A number of smartphone manufacturing (and other) companies have released their smartwatch offerings in the last couple of years. We’ve seen a ton of interesting watches last year, and Samsung’s Gear S2 smartwatch was arguably one of the best ones. The Gear S2 is powered by Tizen, but it is compatible with Android-powered devices. Its sleek looks (especially the looks of the ‘Classic’ variant) managed to catch our attention.
We’ve already reviewed the Gear S2 smartwatch, and it is definitely one of the best out there at the moment. The company has originally released the standard and ‘Classic’ variant of the Gear S2 smartwatch, and has additionally introduced two new Gear S2 Classic models, the 18K Rose Gold and Platinum ones. These two variants of the Gear S2 Classic sport the same design as the original, and their specs are the same, but their color is different. The two new variants were introduced during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas back in January, and have been available out in the market for quite some time now, though their availability was limited to particular regions. The Rose Gold and Platinum variants of the Gear S2 classic haven’t been available in India, at least not until today, read on.
Samsung has decided to roll out these two models of the Gear S2 Classic in the country, and in addition to that, the company has also announced the Gear S2 in White as well. The Gear S2 Classic sports a 1.2-inch 360 x 360 circular Super AMOLED display, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of native storage. The company’s Exynos 3250 dual-core SoC running at 1.2GHz fuels this smartwatch, and IP67 certification for water and dust resistance is also included here. The 250mAh battery is available here as well, and it is not removable. The Gear S2 Classic in Rose Gold color with an Ivory Genuine Leather Band, and a Platinum case watch with a Black Genuine Leather Band cost Rs. 34,900 ($523) in the country. The regular Gear S2 in White, on the other hand, costs Rs. 24,300 ($364).
